| Welcome to Lionel Playford's web site. Take a look at the different galleries for images of my work if you please. You can enlarge each image twice by clicking on it and clicking on it again so that you can see a considerable amount of detail in the surface. I have generally included back ground information with each painting or drawing. New works are being uploaded all the time and unsold works are normally found near the top of each gallery. Commissions also include images of work in progress so you can get an idea of how things sometimes develop over time. For example the National Trust Commission for Robin Hoods Bay Old Coastguard House took 3 months to make and went through some dramatic evolutionary changes. If you want to commission an art work it is best to discuss your needs directly with mew in the studio so I can show you the processes I use. If there are any paintings or drawings you would like to buy please email me via the contact section and I can arrange for you to view the work at my studio or to send it via parcel post or courier. We can discuss precise details regarding price, payment methods and carriage if you are definitely interested in a purchase. Most work small or large can be safely posted to most countries. You can see original works in various venues around Alston Moor in north east Cumbria including in my studio at Rose House, Garrigill about 3 miles up the river Tyne from Alston. I have a small but growing range of high quality prints and greetings cards of my paintings for sale. Any of these can be posted for a small p&p charge to anywhere in the world.
